Sitting is the new smoking. While we’re no longer allowed to suck on those delicious nicotine sticks, can we also not sit anymore? We want to be able to do anything but be forced nothing. If you don’t want to grow old, or if you have immeasurable faith in medical science that will develop a remedy to keep you alive, I certainly wouldn’t do anything.
However, moderate exercise has been shown to be the best thing a person can do to stay in shape and grow very old. Moderate exercise I say, not going to the gym and adding 5 kilos to the bar every week, but getting your 10,000 steps a day, 15 minutes of yoga a day. Buying a standing desk, walking in nature, doing odd jobs around the house. In short: move and stay healthy.
