Hug a tree

August 12th

Hug a tree. You might be taking that literally, or perhaps in spirit as you walk through a beautiful forest and depending on the season you wonder about the buds, the beautiful greenery, the autumn colors or the whimsical leafless branches.

Some people believe that it truly helps to hug a tree. Getting so close to a tree that you smell its fragrance, feel its structure and absorb the energy that the mighty thing has.

In our urban environment we are getting further and further away from nature. Our children hardly know how a cauliflower or avocado grows. Break that cycle. In a radius of maybe thirty kilometers in your area you’ll find beautiful places in nature that you’ve never been to before. And sometimes they are so silent that you could even try to hug a tree.
